I'm finally doing a combined Sierra Northern roster which includes units from Sierra RR and Yolo Shortline. A couple units throw up some questions. Should I include Sierra Baldwins #40 & 44? I believe they were still around at the formation of Sierra Northern. Yolo Shortline Alco S series switcher #511 still sits in Woodland with YSLR reporting marks. Should she be included too? Finally, BN #1819, a GP, was stored in Oakdale and at one point was destined to become a Sierra unit. Is she still there and would she now be included as a Sierra Northern unit? Thanks for any input anyone can provide. Oh, and while we're on the subject, original plans called for the California Western to be renamed the Mendocino Railroad when Sierra took over. Have any of the Cal Western units received new reporting marks or lettering of any kind? Havn't seen any recent pics of thier units.
Ive been notified the #511 was scrapped a few months ago. Hadnt heard this anywhere else. #1819 most likely is/was a parts donor only and Cal Western is still CWR in all actuallity though paperwork indicate it is Sierra Northern working for Mendocino Railroad.
Finally got my latest update posted and have included my Sierra Northern roster. Check it out and let me know what you think. Sierra Northern roster
