Either or, I’d just change the wiring to opposite polarity instead of shared anode as I’m doing it old school direct off 6v trak power (thru resistor) as a direction indicator for my 6v dc trolley line on my “San Medina” TTRAK module. Yours is much nicer than the roadside “electrical cabinet” I made from styrene to hide the two 3mm I am using now.
Started installing the manual throws for the east yard ladder. These are 2mm throw DPDT switches, over which I will place the 3D printed switch machines, which will have music wire run from the printed machine to the throw bar Frog wires growing Overall view
Using a special grow light, another section sprouted frog wires today! They are all wired up, now, but I still have to wire the track power into the micro switches. I premiered the switches, of course, but now to cleanly connect all the black and red wires appropriately (some of the wires sticking through the foam (below)
After getting all the track wires run to the frogs, via the micro switches, took a couple days off. Today, though, I started installing the manual switch machines mounted to the micro switches Got the east throat done today, and validated running through all the switches using a (1) F40PH (2) 2-10-2 & (3) a Big Boy. Minor tweaks needed, of course, but everything is good!
Today was finishing up the manual switch machines on the west ladder, and then testing the operational portions of the yard in full. Here are the two ladders and the east entrance, together, with some power on them. All manually operated switches now have the 3D printed switch machines mounted A UP Big Boy, SP 2-10-2 and a CalTrain F40PH walk into a bar..... trackside look at the switch machine next to UP4023 The old and the new All switches operational with these 3 locos (but there are a few spots where I need to tweak track a bit)
Clearly, this locomotive has chosen to self-identify as a ... well... I'm not really sure what. But we should be respectful of this locomotive's wishes.
Wasn't there a Johnny Cash song about a '54, '55, '56... Lincoln, or some brand of car he was building a part at a time as he brought it home piece by piece in his lunch pail?
