Well I recently had several engines custom painted for BN and when I got them back I thought something was off. Finally I realized that the walkways were painted all green. I could have sworn they were painted black and all my factory painted engines are but thought maybe I was missing something. I've looked at numerous photos and most are from ground level so you can't see the walkway and the few I found where you could I couldn't really tell if they were painted black or just really dirty.
You thought correct, the walkways are supposed to be black. Sounds like it's time to break out the paint on those locos! Mike
they are SUPPOSED to be black. But like you say with age and dirt they tend to fade down a bit.If your modeling and older BN unit go for silver right by the doors in the arc of the door swing. Back when we weather stripped stuff better it would wear the paint down there pretty good.
Pretty good other then the walkways. I am superdetailing them and was going to post the results down the road. BTW, did you get my e-mail about the items you are selling?
