Found these short clips while surfing for general railroad videos: http://www.trainweb.org/littleq/video/bnsf2336.wmv http://www.trainweb.org/littleq/video/meet.wmv Wondering what other videos are out there of our old Frisco workhorses? -Mike
On Steve Goen's "Ship IT on the FRISCO!" video (from SG Video, no longer available), there are several shops of "BeaNed" ex-Friscos- a GP35 n LAwton in early 1981, an SD40-2 in green on the FW&D not far from Wichita Falls, TX in MArch 1981, and the last revenue run on the QA&P with an ex-Frisco GP15-1 (still in the O/W) making the run east from Floydada to Quanah (it was sublettered "QA&P" for this run).
Say... does that video happen to have a true Frisco horn blast somewhere on it? I've been trying to get ahold of a sample but all I have is an approximation from my 26 year childhood memory! -Mike
No, sadly it doesn't.........the whole video (the version I have) is set to the music of Aaron Copeland's "Hoedown" and "The Death of Billy the Kid". IIRC, the horn was a Leslie RS5LT, which (happily for me ) is a Details West part that I use on all my Frisco diesels. You may want to check http://www.spikesys.com/webville.html , and scroll down to RR multimedia & search the diesel horns (they're all .WAV files).
