Seattle in the infinite wisdom of some official named their new trolley line"Seattle Lake Union Trolley" So while prostitution is illegal it is OK to ride a SLUT in Seattle. There is a story about it on MSN this morning and it was on the TV news a couple of days ago.
I heard the official name was something like Seattle Lake Union Streetcar but the locals liked the other acronym.
After the officials discovered the letters in the acrinysm the changed the last from trolley to streetcar.

I say that on the news! one of the coffee shops in the area is selling T-shirts that say something like "I rode the S.L.U.T." with a picture of a trolley car on the front and "South Lake Union Trolley" on the back, I think. Regardless, the name at the least will make the line more popular, just so plople can say things like "I rode the slut to work today" or "lets take the slut downtown!" LOL I love it!! I will be buying a T-shirt!
Yeah, that made national news with the T-shirts that say Ride the Slut. Still, it doesn't top The Bay Area's plan for: Frisco Area Rapid Transit.

This reminds me of when I was stationed at NAS Lemoore, about 30 miles south of Fresno, CA., in the mid 80's. Fresno was just starting to work on their rapid transit system and had a name the train contest. One of the names that they immediately ruled out was Fresno Area Rapid Transit (FART).
