Time for foto fun, folks! This week I focues on the Beach Blanket Layout Party, http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/33/t/000468.html for which I committed to start building a few structures, since we're moving and I don't want to put down any scenery before that.
For the Atlas refugees who don't know where to find NGineer Jerry's classes, here's a link to the first one he posted: http://www.trainboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/get_topic/f/108/t/000002.html? Just thought I'd give you guys a heads-up... It's a new one, and as good as thay usually are!
I acquired an Atlas Conrail 3 bay covered hopper that was all original. (BTW, through the Yellow Forum; recommended.) I added MT trucks, replaced some of the plastic castings, selectively painted some of the appliances, and weathered it with acrylics and chalk. That took about two hours this afternoon. Fun and a break from paying bills.
Dan: Is that N scale? Man that looks good!! I like the weeds. Did you take the picture outside? William: Those tracks look like some of the Denver light industrial. It is really a good switching layout. Nice work.
Here's a shot of the newest addition to my roster, an SP&S C424. I installed MT 1015's and that's it. And from Cheyenne Superday: Keith Hahn's 6 (?!?!?) D&RGW Tunnel Motors and Alaska GP49's twin SD70MACs meet on the Sherman Hill Model RR Club's N layout: And an overlook of the 4x8 layout:
Still early, and my socks have been blown off! You guys are the best! Every week is such a treat to see what N Scalers can do.
New VARR Pictures: VARR SD35 #100 (sort of, LOL!): VARR 60ft Excess Ht. DualPlug Boxcar: VARR 50ft Standard Gondola: VARR MOW 50ft Gondola with Tie Load: W&OD 60ft Excess Ht. Boxcar: United 50ft Boxcar:
Yes I model in N scale. The picture was taken indoors with photolights focused on the backdrop behind the scene. Thanks for the kind comments. Dan
Most excellent tonight, gentlemen! Dan - awesome - one of the best model railroad photos I've ever seen in any scale! Those 6 DRGW tunnel motors look great lashed up! Nice weathering, VA and sapacif, and William - that layout looks like hours of switching fun! Nothing for me tonight - I've been on the ballfield all weekend - 4 games between the 2 kids (and all 4 wins ) Later Dave
I installed decoders in 6 RS-2's and changed the couplers to MT's. Here are some photo's of the JJJ&E Railroad:
Hemi beat me to it!!! But, here's a couple more photos of my T-Motors and even the Westinghouse Schnabel car, also taken on the Sherman Hill N scale layout. Meet with Alaska SD70's and Rio Grande Tunnel Motors. Rounding the curve. Watch the clearances!! My thanks to Jerimiah(Hemiadda2d) and the gang from the Sherman Hill railroad club. For giving me the opporunity to bring up and run a few goodies, between rain showers all day Saturday, June 26.
Hi, all, Nothing brand new. But posting previously created pictures that I like: Here's my contribution for tonight. Last fall, I completed detail/decal/remotor job on a 1996-era Atlas Zebra Stripe Santa Fe GP7, to allow it to match up with my two Atlas Zebra Stripe GP7 Torpedo Tube engines. ============= It's 1956 on Tehachapi Pass, and ATSF Geep #726 leads a lashup of Zebra Stripe GP7s as they pass a set of Southern Pacific helpers in the siding at Woodford: From another angle, the GP9/GP7 lashup is passing under the California Highway 58 bridge near Woodford as they head downhill towards Bakersfield. The Tehachapi Loop is about 3 miles behind them: The MicroScale decal cab numbers (60-1161, formerly 60-247-1) are slightly too big to allow a proper set of four numbers to fit in the (1996) #48032 Atlas GP7 Zebra Stripe unnumbered space. There is enough space for 3 numbers, so I picked a valid ATSF GP9 number for that era and used it, even though the shell is clearly a GP7. Great shots, all! Thx for the continued contribution. Hope to see some of you in Chantilly in August.
