    Hi:

I'm a newcomer, and I have just installed the benchworks.

It's basically a 5x2.5-meter L shaped layout. The shorter leg of the "L" is a 100x260 cm frame, I will place the turnouts here.

Are there examples of a suitable design that I can be used here?

    Thanks.

I'd say that looks pretty good. The theme of the layout would have influence over the track plan. I see that your profile says you are from Argentina. Are you modeling a local railroad? I know very little about Argentine railroads. What will the landscape be? Rural farming? Desert? Mountains? This could also help decide on a track plan. Mountains have curves and inclines through passes, while the Southwestern USA has long straight tracks through the desert. Deciding the landscape could decide how the track is built. These are just a few ideas to help get you started, I'd like to see how this turns out. Have fun!

I just looked at some of your other posts. I saw the coal hopper loads, very interesting. Both of the cars are from the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. They operated in the Southwestern USA, so mountains and deserts would be applicable to your layout. Doing some research on industries that the railroad would deliver cars to can add some realism to the layout. Instead of just going in a circle, you can also deliver cars like a real railroad does. Since you already have cars with coal carrying capacity, a mine would be a good place to start.

    Hi:

    Thanks for your advice.

Yes I live in Argentina, not far from Buenos Aires City. I want to model a western US layout just because it seems to be easier to find American rolling stock than European or even local and maybe, with a few exceptions, there aren't many interesting landscapes around railroad lines here.

    Regards,
    Robert

It appears that you have a very decent amount of space available. It will be interesting to see the theme and design chosen for your layout.
