John- it could be a standard NIS paint scheme, but I doubt it...the only time I've ever seen it is on the movie locomotives and cars, and now this CF-7. Interesting. Jeff Moore Elko, NV
I have a couple pix of model CF-7 scratch/bashed in O Scale if anyone would care to post the pix here--If interested, please contact me directly at reutling@xtn.net Thanks Ed Reutling
Here's the TC&W, before it's repaint and after: http://www.trainweb.org/diez-mon/images/one/DSCN2315.JPG Second photo by my friend Gary Rose. [ December 26, 2005, 10:46 AM: Message edited by: DiezMon ]
Tim's photo of TCWR 302 was taken after it's transfer from the Red River Valley and Western, which it is painted in. You can just see the very weathered RRV&W above the 'engine' room doors. IIRC, it was about this time it became a slug, though in both photos it still appears to be a locomotive in it's own right. Not sure if the remote control side of things ever was used on the TC&W (indicated by the light array on the side of the cab rear). TCWR CF7 309 was usually paired with TCWR GP20C 2008 (which was in the shop with a ground relay fault when I was visiting one day. Spent a little time under 2008 checking the traction motor brushes with the mechanic until a couple of questions later we figured the fault wasn't with 2008 but with 309 which was still connected).
