Being a Rio Grande modeler, I of course, have done up some new power. There is also a caboose that was reworked at the Burnham shops in 2-77. The GP38-2s are ex-UP units, and painted in an inverted WP scheme. Let me know what you think. Paul H.Liddiard
Yes, about 5 years ago, and then they did an extention for the branch line. But you can get the decals from Microscale.
the main reasons were a super price on the set, and that the only change I had to make was to cover the milw road lettering on the nose with a little silver paint before decalling. Most of my TCC locos are steamers though. Once I used up all the free TCC decals I could get my hands on, I recently ordered ten more sets from microscale, and the show 81 sets in stock, but when the're gone..... http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2...ct_Code=MC-5001&Product_Count=&Category_Code= TCC 2-8-0 more TCC pics http://s46.photobucket.com/albums/f123/river_eagle/N-Turtle_Creek_Central/
I love the paint job. I had modeled the TCC for my first G scale layout. My buddies that thought I had gone turtle on them. Now I feel vindicated.
TCC I think that it would look great with the dark green cab and the long hood the light green. Run a dark green strip along the sill, but I'd leave your trucks black, and the fuel tank too. I like the scheme though! Paul
I like the TCC on steam. I think that the original article should have had a used steamer for power, not the Baldwin s-12, but that's jsut me. The GP15 and that 2-6-6-2 look very nice! Paul
I had forgotten all about those decals that came with the magazine, mine are still around in my decal drawer. I wonder if some of those will fit on a Z-scale boxcar? Hmm
