Does anyone know if SP&S had any semi trailers, what size, model, and what paint/lettering they had? I've looked thru all my books and can't find a single picture or mention, but I can't imagine them not having at least a few.
Dave, Though the SP&S did not have any, this opens the door for some creative foobies! Looking at the parent lines models I think some realistic versions could be made in silver with red logos or green with passenger striping and lettering. I plan on doing a few someday for fun. I have seen some at swaps too, but never thought they looked right. Rick
Your right, they didnt look right but I bought them because they were an interesting twist. They were in boxcar red with stepped billboard lettering. I think silver with the red football would have been better.
I had not thought of that combination. Don't forget the caboose script lettering. "Northwests own railroad".
Thanks.......guess that's why I couldn't find any pictures. I sometimes run a SP&S/CB&Q/GN/NP (fallen flags) train at our NTRAK setups, and I have TOFC cars for the other RRs so thought it would be fun to add an SP&S one. So I guess it's foobie time....... here's some options: 1. tigerstripe- dark green with a rust roof , yellow pin striping, yellow lettering and a red/white oval on the front 2. Broadstripe- green with yellow stripe, red/white oval on sides 3. boxcar red with stepped billboard lettering (thanks Oregon Trunk) 4. boxcar red (or SP&S green) with white "football" logo 5. light green (as delivered FA scheme) with yellow pinstripes and lettering) 6. silver with red/white oval. I have an undec. Atlas 40 trailer/flatcar in my stash......so I'm only doing one (at least for now). Which one would you like to see?
Foobie time!!!! Not the greatest photo, but you get the idea. It's my favorite SP&S scheme. I'll get the flatcar next week.
