I just finished up this DCC install recommended by someone I know. I used a DZ125 Z scale decoder he recommended. Runs just fine. Had to isolate both motors and solder the motor wires right to the motor contacts. Ran the motors at the work bench after I lightly greased the gears with LaBelle 102 gear oil with some LaBelle 134 lubricating power added to the gear oil. I used a small paint brush to lightly coat the gears with a film. Maximum current at 7 volts was 164 ma with both motors wired in parallel. Have read in a couple forums that some have smoked the decoders. Forgot to take photos of the wired motors. The original idea comes out of MRR magazine, Jan 2001 I will be re-painting the loco. lex
