Hey All! A quick question — I'm in the process of building out my layout, to which I will have a staging area that will be obscured by scenery/mountains. I have been toying with the idea of hooking up a camera/lcd screen to monitor what's going on back there once I get things moving. Any ideas/suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
An acquaintance of mine did this for his hidden staging, many years ago. It worked just fine. But took a bit of getting used to for the operators. The way it displayed the scene was opposite from where we'd stand to operate. So at first we were trying to go the opposite direction we should have been heading.
Yeah! I've seen that — especially with the older backup cameras. From my limited understanding — I think some of the newer options don't flip the image or have some crazy fish eye going on. Which could get interesting for longer trains
