Got this from another source. Sad to hear. Too many great preservation candidates been scrapped lately. :(

There is now some debate as to whether one of the ALCo S1s has survived. This would be #505 and may be inside the shop as a backup to MP15 #777. SW1200 #9319 is at CEECO for paint but there is some question as to if it will be brought back or not. Appearantly nothing has been done to her yet. From what I've gathered #9319 has been troublesome from the start. I will keep an ear out.

If anyone can verify #505 still exists, that would be greatly appreciated.

Almost forgot. The reason these units may have been scrapped is due to urban copper miners got to them.

True, or not, unfortunately I am unable to type here what I'd like to say about such useless scum.

Sad indeed. That some have held on even to this late date is something short of a miracle.

Is it just me.... Or dose it somehow seem everything matalic is slowly making its way to the coasts and on to our "Global trading partner".

Who are building things, like most of the stuff we used to build. Plus a modern military.

Dont worry, they will send back those Alco's as shell splinters.

New reports have #9319 painted (I've seen a pic) and she should be on her way back to STE shortly. This will probably be the end for ALCo #505 if #9319 works reliably.
