    Was the D&H the first railroad to experiment with ears? The New York Central used them on later locomotives, but I think that was after they appeared on the D&H. Also I believe ears were used in Europe, but I don't know when...Alan?

    I have to agree with Alan, they are handsome engines without the ears. I sure wish we could go back in time somehow to see the thousands of these great machines running (always on time) in the steam era. :rolleyes:
