Stock trailer

Has anyone seen a stock(cattle) trailer in N scale? I can't find any RTR models. To make matters worse, I'm looking for a '50s version. I found a few trailers on Shapeways, but the n scale were all too modern and the ones that would be correct were all in HO and larger scales. Also found that Roadapples made a resin kit, but finding one is virtually impossible.

For the Shapeway ones, you might try reaching out to the designer and request they scale down to N Scale. I have had success on a couple of these requests. Of course it has been awhile since using Shapeways. Just a thought

I've got several trailers from Royale Models. Great stuff and good to deal with.

Agreed, his prices seem very fair.

I know this is newer than the one you are after but here's a look at the cattle trailer I got from Royale. I'm a mediocre model builder at best and had no issues.



And the most recent builds or Royale Models were two grain trailers and a tractor.



Now that spring and outdoor painting weather is getting close, I need to place an order with them myself.

Looking at how small the vent openings are on stock trailers, it seems that decals could work for non-closeup viewing in N-scale by using a smooth sided trailer.

 

You could get away with it probably but being able to see through it is nice.
