Does anyone have any suggestions as to a substitute spray paint color that’s close to the color of Polly-S Roof Brown? I have some track I need to paint and I really don’t want to hand paint them. John
Not sure about spray paint, but thin it a little and most brush paints will flow pretty well through a cheap Harbor Freight air brush. Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
I think for anyone to answer this question, they’ll have to have POLY-S Roof Brown on hand to provide a comparison. Unfortunately John, I do not have any.
Check this out: This is a conversion chart to replace Floquil/ Polly Scale paints with substitutes from other brands. Roof Brown is in there with references to Model Master and a few other brands. https://www.testors.com/~/media/Dig...lic-painting-guide-post-Floquil-Portrait.ashx Microscale also came up with their own version: https://www.microscale.com/Floquil Color Chart.pdf
For track, I use Floquil Roof Brown, but I tested Krylon Camouflage Ultra Flat Brown as a very good substitute for when I run out of Floquil. I only have 4 bottles of it left. It sprays thicker so you have to mask the surrounding area good and lightly spray from 14" or so away, but it looks great when dry, and after the rail tops are sanded and ballasted it matches Roof Brown painted track well.
