I have an older model Pemco Mogul with a tender mounted motor and I also have a new IHC Mogul with the motor in the typical place(i.e.in the engine).Now I was wondering that if I were to attach the Pemco tender to the IHC engine (both with motors)and then attach a DCC chip to each motor and program them at the same time,would this produce a decent puller in a small package?Or is this fanciful wishing?I saw a guy at G.A.T.S. a few weeks back that had one of these IHC's m.u.'d to a Bachman Consolidation and that got me to wondering if I could do something similiar. As to those that are wondering why don't I just get a bigger engine and not mess with a little ol' mogul,my answer to that is that it wouldn't be prototype for my railway. Stepchild, I see no reason you couldn't do the twin motors the way you propose, because, I have several Mallets with twim motors, and the deezul hogs have twin motors in some of their painted kiddy cars ( ). Yas I'll admit it, I'm an old steam frother, and like to kid the diesel guys. HOWEVER.... I suggest you ask the DCC guys about it for sure. It would seem to me that if you used two encoders to match motor to driver speed, wouldn't you have to then change BOTH throttles to change speed? Maybe not, that's why I think asking in the DCC forum might provide you some expert knowledge, and even short-cuts. Those are a very sharp bunch of guys there and are willing to help you. Yes that will work. Program each decoder so thet they run well together, then consist them to 1 throttle.....Mike
