Please help identify these engines. William Cowie and I saw them in Kirby Yard, San Antonio, yesterday. William may have a better picture.
Thanks, John. I didn't know and William Cowie has another thread on TB somewhere that is giving the same answers.
No problemo. I've got tons more pics of SP,SSW,DRGW and UP SW1500s, MP15DCs, and MP15ACs on my sites so you can compare. Also saw somewhere on here a manufacturer is coming out with an MP15DC with three different style hoods. Forgot who right off the top of my head. Anyhow, if you get to looking through the pics on my sites, you can see all, or at least two of these hood types too.
John: Here is the other thread and better pictures. http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/9/t/005254/p/1.html#000009 I am going to check your website today. I want to be sure to know the difference between MP15AC and MP15DC. BTW, I was surprised to see that the UP engine was an SW1500. I thought they would all be parked by now?
Flash, UP still has a very large fleet of SW1500s. The easiest way to tell the MP15AC from the DC version is the tunnel motor style grill arrangement on the front of the AC. I call them tunnel switchers.
