We will be at Lowes payday anyways. THE Wife buys her bird seed for the wild bird feeder there each month. I believe I can pick up *one* 120v led bulb for just under 10.00. May be cheaper online....but then ya gotta figure in shipping and waiting for the danged thing to get here !!!....lol.
Flock the Trees ! Back about 7 years ago I read about someone using the sprigs off old fake Xmas trees for trees on a layout. I went about cutting about 600 of them ! Well...today I decided to "Flock The trees". The difference is like night and day !!!! Cell Tower Hill.... BEFORE AFTER... Homstead... BEFORE AFTER...
Wellllllllllllllllllll..... Went to Lowes and walked out 10 years older !!! Dang....so many different 'varieties' of LED bulbs. There is watts...lumins...brightness...style...shape...price...etc...etc... :wideeyes:hboy: I gave up and walked out and just screwed a regular old 60 watt incandescent in the workbench light when I got home !!! :frustrated:
Srayed 'trees' with "Extra Super Hold Aqua Net" hair sray. Sprinkled Noch static grass over them. Shook off any excess. Planted them. Was so fast and easy...ran outta hair spray after a couple hundred trees !!! Still have about 400 more to do. Back to KMart tomorrow and pick up another couple of cans. Told THE WIFE that she was gonna hear the wierdest thing she ever heard a guy say.... "Honey...I ran outta Aqua Net !!!" :teeth::funny:
I understand. Those I have looked at are doing a very poor job of marking their packages so we can convert watts to lumens. They've just almost dumped it on us, as if we're supposed to have such info already in our heads. They need to at least have an equivalency chart posted in the stores. If this is some sort of coy sales technique, it's a flop with myself and many folks I know. They don't sell much when people just walk away empty handed.
Found the 'brightness' one I wanted by looking at the sample lighting display. Of course it was the only one they DIDNT have....figures. :headspin:
Yea....that Aqua Net sure is 'sticky'. Just for S&G I tried to wipe the static grass off one I did. No way!!! That stuff was glued on good !
Going from memory from a clinic i was at ........ I think what you want is something like this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-...ED-Light-Bulb-E-433235/205128422?N=5yc1vZbm79 They are supposed to be the same as a 60 watt incandesent bulb and this color (5000K) is close to daylight . There are more expensive bulbs , but from what I remember you don't need to spend the money . The cheep ones work just fine . BTW I was told that it will take 4 of these bulbs to replace the light output of a standard Sears 4ft shop light . HTH
Yea...Home depot is right across the street from Lowes up here. My head was spinning so bad when I keft Lowes...I bypassed Home Depot. Will give them a try payday. The 5000k daylight is what I want. We will see if Home Depot carries them in stock... :headspin:
Thanks for the overview, you definitely have a well developed integrated system. I'm also impressed with the LED lighting, it gives much better color saturation.
Thnxs Hank... Everything seems to be working out OK The 12v 1156 bulbs are 13 leds per bulb. I may change them out for the 18 led ones...just for a little more brightness in there. The light fixtures are all 2 bulb with a slide switch for one or both lights. If its to bright...I'll just turn one light off in each fixture.
I agree about the lighting. Looking as though it works very well. Quite a change since you acquired the RV. From disaster to superb man cave.
