Well, it has come to that point once again. I think it is time to take a break from the railroad artwork. I have been at this stretch for about 3 years now and in this time I have completed around 30 drawings. The past couple have been a real chore getting going and keeping with them. Today I just started the last train drawing I will be doing for quite some time I think. At least on a regular basis anyway. I will probably still do one about every 4-5 months, just to keep something fresh for the catalog and eBay. But if this goes like previous breaks this will probably be about a 3-4 year hiatus. That is not to say I am stopping my drawing, far from it, I will be just moving back into one of the other subject matters I like to work with. I have been checking out the national art competition listings lately and they have really increased in number and in prize money. So, I am going to start to put some of the museum quality stuff I have done in the past together for national shows and go for some of those big cash prizes.

Probably back to some of the historical stuff I like to do.

Here is the drawing I did of Abu Simbal a couple of years ago. This was a small drawing, not bigger than 8"x11" but the new stuff will be 3'x4'.

Anyway, thank you for all the kind words and support. I will be checking in from time to time but with this new stuff and moving into the new house I am not sure how much I will be able to post. I do plan on getting back into my HO custom engines, not for sale but for my own use, so I will probably be hanging out down in the HO section more often.

Do look for the occasional thread here when I crank out a new train but like I said that will only be 2-4 times a year from this point out.

Take care if I don't see you elsewhere on this site!

Lance, we will miss your fine artwork depicting the objects of our hobby. Best of luck in other areas and we will look forward to your next rail subject.
