    Hi Paul

Thanks. That clears up some confusion I felt after reading the Aristo catalog a few times.

    Did I get this right?

1.The 5460 PS is still good (track power)

2.The 5473 Transmitter is still good.

3.My 5471 Receiver is now redundant because the 5490 takes it's place in each engine. And

4.the 5495 Add-on Board is connected somewhere in the engine (engines) as well.

    This'll cost me!

Dave, I think you will need the:
5490 DC on board receiver as well.

You will see that the 5495 + 5490 will cost about half the price of the Phoenix board and together they will be mor than twice the price of the actual loco.

We run our electric trains inside, this means we need only one Phoenix board or 2 connected to an amplifier and about 6 loudspeakers under the layout which saves a lot of money on sound installations.

All sound equipment (amplifiers and boxes are very cheap $10.00 for an amplifier and $20.00 for speakers 200 Watt 8OHM. and the whole systems sounds terribleeeeeee [IMG]
