Elsewhere Paul has asked us if we are having fun!
The construction of various buildings for my layout gives me a great deal of pleasure. Johnathan Catt Edwards and I created NARA and he and I decided to name our buildings after NARA members names. This is another one of those but each has it's own story!!!

At a meeting Paul had with the lumberjacks, cooks , and locomotive engineers, firemen and maintenance workers, he praised them for their efforts to make the Badger Creek operation efficient and viable. All employees were anxious for the Badger Creek to be profitable as Paul had set up profit sharing with them all and they just loved it. They were always on the lookout for new and different ways to improve the BC. Located in British Columbia the BC has become known in some circles as the BCBC.
The maintenance of way crew found they had tons of granite left from the various rock cuts and tunnels. Some was used in fill for low areas but there was a lot left over. They talked about this at the meeting and someone who knew that lumber from the BCBC was going to the Cater Casket company, suggested that maybe a tombstone opportunity existed. This idea grew into TEMPLAR TOMBSTONES
This business was set up at Abercom in the old Mouse River Granite Co. building that had been vacant for a number of years. Abercom is served by the MAT railroad which has many interchanges with other railroads so granite from the BC is shipped to this location then enjoys a wide distribution of the finished monuments.

This model is scratchbuilt out of cardboard toothpicks and stuff. It is N gauge and is based on the HO kit put out by Fine Scale Miniatures the kit was listed at $180 but my version cost me about 180 cents.

Robin my friend, I love it, Mouse River Granite Co., and Templars Tombstones. That last load of timber you received from the Badger Creek Lumber Co. has not been paid for yet. LOL.

Great idea, you should see what I am creating for the Matt. Photo soon.

Isn't this something? I like it! You have a great imagination Robin... And creatively good skills with cardboard and all.. Thats amazing with the cardboard buildings! I'm sadly into the plastic structures and real wooden structures and all and being I have some critters I couldn't use cardboard... HA! My Frisky Firtilla would play Godzilla through my town and engine facilities I'd have to... UMM bang the cat gets it....A good ole fassioned butt kickin'! So I use the stronger ways of building... and I'm starting to grow quite fond of the wooden buildings... And even mix and match wood and plastic into buildings... But this cardboard technique your using is very convincing by looks!

That is a great structure Paul and I am indeed honoured my friend.
There is a building boom going on at both Maberly and Tayside and a huge order for both bricks and tile has been faxed so be on the look out for it.
What a great way to have fun eh!!

    Paul and Robyn,
Excellent structures, I'd love to see how both you guys build these from scratch. I know Robyn builds his from cardboard I'm not sure about Pauls.

How about it fellows maybe we could have our own workshop here on scratchbuilding using materials found around the home or that can be bought at a good price.

Paul, you can thank John Cater for getting us going. He challenged us some time ago to find ways to do things with all the stuff we have laying around the house and it's amazing what has resulted. Now Rick has us going again with the lonely hearts club
