    Whats the point of the small wagons? Wouldn't it make more sence to have less big cars, or are there lots of very small industries to go with the cars too?

    I heard the short trains in UK were also necessary because the engines were light weight (compared to the USA Mallets), so braking was difficult. Also for reasons of short passing sidings. Short 2 wheel freight or goods wagons were not required to turn short curve track, being loaded from the side. Men could push one from one dock to another along a row of buildings without needing an engine. It may have taken several businesses to fill one wagon There was not a tendency to 'boogie' at high speeds with just the four wheels.
