Hey all. Some of you might recognize me as the kid who came here a few months ago asking for advice on On30. If you've wondered where I went, I've been saving money and gathering track for my layout little by little, and today I finally got enough track to make about 90% of the final plan. Of course this called for celebration, so I set it up and ran my On30 k-37 around a few times to see how it would work: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx1_jI8Xwkk"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia] It handles like a dream. And for the record, I'm the guy in the middle looking like a little kid xD This is the original plan I decided on, so you guys can see better: The advice I got on using Bachmann EZ track was perfect, and the 33.25 inch radius works perfectly as the locomotive has no problems going around the curves and its wide enough to give a more realistic appearance going around. I was stuck between a number 5 or a number 6 turnout for a while, and the people at my local hobby store told me 5 wouldn't work but it was the right size so I took a chance on it and its perfect. Now that I have the major stuff I need I just need to buy another switch and a few more individual sections and the plan will be done, even a little bit altered for better performance. Enjoy, and look forward to hearing from you guys. Later!
Looks good ArtFan! Your cat also seemed to take the intruder well. My Golden Retrievers would not have been so understanding. :cute:
Hi ArtFan Congratulations for this fine start. The situation is somewhat similar to mine in having to deal with a temporary layout: On3 sectional tracks and turnouts - Page 4 - TrainBoard.com Except that you'll go on from here to a permanent set-up. At any rate, it's great to see these fine models in action. :tb-biggrin: Also, I still have to try posting one of my videos! :tb-biggrin:
I think it's awesome to see someone younger getting involve in the hobby. Plus, that's a friggin' sweet locomotive.
