Well, got my new slide scanner, an HP S20, works great. Be sure to clean your slides before scanning (I forgot here). Here are some shots from the morning of 9/15 in the vicinity of Cranesville, NY on the Mohawk River at Lock 10. Just before the sun breaches the horizon, a westbound: An eastbound a few hours later: And a photo so pretty I couldn't resist: Enjoy!
Nope.... I don't think it is working properly, can you try some more? Looks great...I gave up on slides a LONG time ago, but am glad someone still uses slide film! Harold
Corey, Great pix! Someone on Trainorders asked how much a slide scanner costs. I, too, would be interested in that (or I could snail mail you a bunch of slides). BTW, do you ever go to Class? What's your major? Fitz EE '61.
Fitz, I do go to class, and my major is EE (Electrical Engineering for those who don't know). I spend most of my time fanning on the weekends, and after 10 am on Fridays my weekend starts, so I can get a lot done. Chessie, more scans will be on the way. I plan on archiving all my slides to date (about 10 rolls) so I can keep up with them later on. This scanner cost me three and a half, but retails for about a hundred more. I got it on eBay, and the final price included shipping.
I stopped taking slides long ago, but have lots from the "old days" which I would love to scan. I was thinking of getting a flatbed scanner with a slide attachment, but how good are these? Great shots Corey! (Especially the "pretty" one)
Alan, the flatbed attachments are very poor in my opinion. They are just a waste of time and money. This scanner can still scan prints up to 5x7 (inches) which is nice, as I do take prints on occasion. This was well worth th investment in my opinion.
