You have posed a good question. I have books with copyrighted pictures that I can't post but I don't know if I have ever seen a pic of an F-7 Texas Special on the net or not. No Charlie I don't. I have seen one picture in the "Katy railroad images site but I can't copy it for my own use. If you find one please let me know. I am painting a set of E7's for a friend and I am forced to stop until I can see for myself what my next step is going to be, so far I have 2 M-K-T TS red E-7's and a big "?" in my head as to what comes next! ------------------ William F. William, Their is a good picture of a Katy E7 on the Katy rairoad web site. www.Katyrailroad.org/diesels.htm Although you might not be able to copy it you can use it for a reference to finsh your project. Champ Decals PH 93 (passenger car lettering) is a close match for the engine decales. The hard part will be finding the MKT & Frisco emblems to put on the front sides of the nose of the car body. I have found these (Frisco only) in the older sets of Walthers 84-90 (Frisco) or Herald King L463-1 (Frisco). Good Luck on your project Jerome
William, If you can find a copy of 'Model Railroader' August 1996, starting on page 80 there is a 5 page article on painting Katy EMD E & F units. This includes a drawings of the E7's and what decales to use. Jerome
Jerome, I don't know how easy it would be for me to acquire that issue of Model Railroader, however, is there a possibility that you could scan those pages and send them to me? Or, possibly at least let me know what decal set I need. I don't have much time to get these done as I will be returning to work soon, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
