The Chicago Emporia and Evansville acquired a new (well new to them) Key Brass imported SD40-2 this past weekend. The owner of the RR was getting ready to inspect the engine when the box got caught on another box as he picked it up. The SP bloody nose SD40 did a one and one half gainer to the concrete floor below. Needless to say the purchase was not planned in advance but all has worked out for the best. The repairs have been made and the engine performs flawlessly and looks very good even with a paint smudge on the front corner of the shell. Thank goodness brass is somewhat flexable because all the frame needed was a little tweeking and gentle nudging to return to where it had been before the big oaf dropped it. All is well here in trainland at least it is now that the V.P of the CEE Line (his wife) calmed down. LOL LOL
Does this mean that the CEE is now the OOPS! line <marquee>North American Rail Alliance</marquee> [ 03 May 2001: Message edited by: Catt ]

This was the first time I had ever dropped anything at a show and I hope it is the last. This particular dealer had contacted me just 5 days before the show to see if he could still get any tables. I rearranged my table setup for him so he took decent care of me in my oopsness. The next time I may not be so lucky. I would hope I would never intentionally drop something just to get a better deal. To me that would be thievery in the worst sense of the word. [ 05 May 2001: Message edited by: leghome ]
