Here is what i got right now. I need to mix way more white to get the right color of grey. Just doing nothing right now. Let it sit and come back to it later. Thats what i used to do. I am watching the races and maybe watch a movie.

What shape are they in? Do they run ok on DC? If so, you have a proper sized decoder and still want to run them on your layout PM me and maybe I can get those working for you. I converted one for myself and as I recall I was able to get it working without much fuss.

You may not have to do much more. an application of soil and grass and low vegetation will cover a lot.

Dr. is not liking my issues with being tired all the time. Not sleeping much as Deb keeps telling me i was toss and turning in my sleep again last night. I didn't want to wake up this morning.I did get a color as close as i could get to do the mountains so i painted it. Am tired but wanted to get that done. About as good as i can make it. It needs to be light enough so the washes can leave the cracks and marks on the faces of the rocks. Shots below, Smoke

Three washes and when i get the paint to dry, Washes of brown and black to finish the rock faces. I can cover up the bad places with bushes and grass weeds and any other weeds i need. I hope i can get it like the last layout as far as the finishing pieces is done. Wouldn't be all that bad. Shots of the fun. next

Well, I got some things happening around the layout. little projects that need to be done and not wanting to put them off to later. lets see. Found the log loader. Its glued to the car now.All the logging cars are finished. Have the spar pole ready to mount. I made the old sand tower and dryer to work on diesels. I repurposed a old water tank to a diesel fuel tank. I have the fencing for the barn scene laid out how i want it. I set up how i want the logging camp to be so i will have the photo to help jog the ole brain. Nothing much else going on. Shots below, laters

The "snow" is a lighter shade of grey. That and a darker grey and brown in there as well. The camera don't show it as well. I try and stay busy. The smaller parts are a pain for me. It takes longer then it used to. Depending on how i feel i might do some weathering of the mountains this weekend. I'd love to get that part done. Then i can clean the track real good and run some trains again. I really need to clean the track bad. Its got a lot of pieces of paint and has a bad case of oxidation. Get that finished and it should be good to go. I stay busy so i can get things done. I have some days where i really don't want to do anything. My back screams on the mountain work. Both plaster and paint. I get some really strong headaches from that. Anyway thats all for now. If i feel like it i might try and do some washes of the mountains. I'll see. Laters

Well i worked on the left mountain. Black washes and brown as well. Good combo but i think it might need another wash or two in brown and black.I just don't want the mountain top to get too dark. Am waiting to see what it looks like later when it dries. Shots below. Pictures don't show it, looks lighter than it is. Laters

Still kinda taking a break. My Back hates me and the layout! So, with that in mind, I finished rebuilding the last four logging cars. wheels and new rails on it.I finished the new fuel tank. Finished the railing for the ramp along the log dump. Shots below. Thats it for the day. I'm going to lay down for awhile. Anyone think i need a new building mat?? This one is getting old!

The one here has a 8X12 inch one. Hobby lobby is about the same. The one i got was 12 X 18in. Hate having to go on-line to wherever the postage is almost as much as the item you buy.
