I'm incredibly sorry to hear that. You are correct in that there is no cure. My father didn't technically beat it, they caught it soon enough that by removing part of his right lung they stopped it spreading. He was also in his 40s at the time. I sincerely hope that the past twenty three years they've improved the treatments pre and post surgery for your sake. My dad doesn't really like talking about it but if you have any questions and want a nonmedical answer I'll see what I can do.

No man don't be messing with your father. Lots of times when we have setting happen for the worse you try and forget it. You would bring up a lot of stuff that will just start all those feelings all over again.

It's some better. I was able to walk without o2 for about 12 feet. They have been blasting me with antibiotics so much that the wieezeing is almost gone. I felt better today than yesterday. Not out of the woods but starting g to get some better. Now is phase two. Start physical therapy. I may in the next couple of days start some. Still have antibiotics to do and am on o2 yet but looking forward to this pary.

Being cleared of that Valley Fever possibility seems like a tiny bit of good news.

I am home. Got here after lunch. I am having issues with my diabetics. its still high but they said thats because of the sick. Its 270 and right now, i am having a hard time seeing the computer screen clear. So i gave me a bit more than it should have called for. maybe in a couple of days i can see clear again. Only bad thing is I had the tray out of the tool box and she spilt the contents....all over he!!.....I need to get that cleaned up and get me a place to sleep. Don't want to take a chance with Deb yet. She is still coughing and sputtering and sneezing. What she has i had. I have copd and Asama too. I got caught with all three at the same time. Thats what happens sometimes and add pneumonia to that and thats a death wish. Anyway thats all over. I am on the mend and its Debs turn to go to the hospital next time..... The engine for the 4-4-0 came in. if i feel up to it i will have that to play with.

I am resting. I got tired of doing nothing so i got up and worked on the engine for awhile. Its installed and wired to the dcc chip. The tender gets its power from the wheels to springs and they are on sliders. The sliders have been wired to the dcc chip. I have the wood box built and drying. Tomorrow i will install the wheelsets. and try it out on dcc. If it runs, I can place it on the dcc test track and run it up. I can hook it up to the main engine and see how it runs, so tomorrow i should see it running around the layout pulling a few cars. I need to do a finish on the paint. So it maybe done tomorrow...Dan

Well, I am Just beside myself... Seems that Bachmann did a change in there tenders. The pins are bigger and the older axles won't fit. You would think that a new tender with motor would also have new axles too! I will mess with it more later. The engine itself acts like its on a bind. The tender and motor work ok and the dcc chip is working ok too! I am going back to bed for now. Tired yet. get tired easy. Later,Dan

Don't overdo it, too soon. I did that once and really paid the price. Get plenty of rest! (y)

Well, I called Bachmann about the tender. Seems a "complete" tender isn't so complete. The axles and springs don't come with them. And it just wants to lobe around the track. I am about to give up on Bachmann. Guess i need to find another source of engines in steam......

Can I add some Celtic greetings and very best wishes from Scotland?
I've followed many of your posts and learned more than I've yet taught my daughters
    Hang in there.
