I can imagine being in a room with one or two of these running. After a while, the "jet" sound could become a bit much.
Those look super, I love FVM products. I feel my wallet cringing, but those are going to be must have. When are they being released ?
Great !! I wonder if they will be like previous runs, DCC ready or will they have option of DCC equipped?
I've used the Digitrax, TCS and Zimo decoders in the FVM GP60M and the Zimo is my favorite. So smooth. Time to save up for an SP Christmas!
I used to live in Laramie Wyming and my neighbor was a retired UP engineer between Green River and Cheyenne from the late 1940s through the 1970s. We used to sit on his patio and I would bug him for Railroad stories. Anyway, I recalled him talking about these and the amount of noise the real ones produced. We moved many years ago, right after he passed away. I could listen to his stories about running over Sherman Hill back in the day for hours. He told me once that he loved it so much he would have done it for free if he didn't need to eat! Tom L Wellington CO
I also plan to buy one of those UP turbines. My layout is equipped with 30 inch radii, which is more than enough to handle that locomotive. When will they be released? Staying cool and having fun with it..... Shades
$500 for DCC and sound. I am glad they don't come in Brunswick green (not that I would buy one if they did). And yes, I know that the street price will be lower.
Me too! When ever I can I use the Zimo decoders. I have them in my current GP60's and they are unbelievable when it comes to running! More ATSF!! YES! I wonder if the roof beacons will be operational?
Maybe it's a good sign that we haven't heard much as yet. Probably so much going on nobody has time to post
Lots of new product info on another forum. But you can't see the photos unless you're a member and you can't register to become a member if your e-mail service provider is on their exclusion list.
Here's the cliff notes. If you model the UP, you get yet another obscure locomotive, the big blow turbine. If you model anything but the transition era, especially modern, another happy day for you. Hell if you model from the 60's forward, you have trucks, lots of freight cars, new locomotives, etc! If you model the transition era, you're screwed lol. Unfortunately I model the transition era......... Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Um, Manufacturers have been making loads of transition era stuff for years. i am glad to see more modern era coming out.
