Can I still use these IF I can actually put them together :) Bought them probably 15-20 years ago. Cleaning up and organizing again, or trying too.

If you can assemble them you should be able to use them. Good luck with the assembly.

I made my own 'coupler jig'...

Once all the coupler parts are laid out...I can assemble a MT coupler in under 30 seconds !(y)

No. It's some metal needle doodad that came out of my wife's grandmothers sewing chest. When grandma passed a few years back my wife was given her sewing stuff.

So you're telling us Grandma was into N-Scale and was assembling MT couplers even back then? :ROFLMAO:

IMHO the biggest thing is getting something to go through the coupler post so the 2 coupler halves don't fall off that post while assembling them.

Maybe Post-It notes will guide me to work on layout over time :) BTW, love the fact I can put most items on New shelves while working on layout. Along with new lighting.

I like the Post-It notes. They will keep you focused. I may do the same thing.

Someone here has or had this same Kato Amfleet II, Viewliner I Intercity Express Phase VI 3 Car Set and they stopped their cars from blinking when going around the track and I forgot what they did. If someone knows will you tell me? Or anyone that knows how to fix it. Of course right now the lighting kit is completely not working at stop. I also have to fix the rear car as it is rubbing against something. Think maybe I pressed the body down too far?

    Any help appreciated.

I don’t have this set, but I have a few dozen lighted Kato Metra coaches-they use the same lighting setup. I’ve found flickering from two main causes-sometimes both issues are combined.

    1) Dirty track or wheels. I take a little piece of paper towel with a little rubbing alcohol, put it on a spare piece of unitrack I have, and run the wheels back and forth until clean and then I clean my track on the layout.

    2) Loose connections inside the coaches. Sometimes I push the decoder and or the LED too far or not far enough during install. Sometimes it vibrates loose over time. But as it runs on the track, little vibrations cause the flicker as the connection stops. I remove the shell and fiddle with it until I get a sold connection and roll it to see if the flicker stopped. Then put the shell back on. Now that I’m back in the US, I will eventually do a bit of soldering on these to make that connection bulletproof BUT I haven’t tried this yet so I don’t know about the results. Priority is on getting a new layout built right now.

I'll clean the track and wheels first. Then next time I feel like opening them back up take a look at the connections, thanks!

Had to make a video for myself to remember how to hook these turn outs up when I am ready to hook them up to my layout again. They did work during testing :) Thanks to the person that told me to get the MOMENTARY switches ages ago. Forgot who it was?

As I said in another thread planning on another redo of the layout down to the pretty much bare base and start over. Planning on making a NEW thread called:

    The C&L Layout & Beyond

Look for it in theatres near you :)
