Well, I've worked my way though all the 36 foot box and reefer body shells Kisatchie sent me. I'm now down to one stock car shell and one Red Ball underframe, which will become a PRR "KF" stock car when I get the "circle F' decal. This one is a Western road car, a 1923 rebuild from the California Western, which is still extant as a tourist line. Here 'tis: This series has been fun to build. Hope y'all enjoyed viewing them.
Cool car. The CWR still hauled freight up until a few years ago...the paper mill closed down in Fort Bragg. They still have to do US postal deliveries to customers along the line though.
I'm happy to see you've been able to put those shells to good... er... great, use! Keep those pictures comin'
Yup. Not just the cars themselves, but also seeing those rarely modeled road names on top of it all. Quite a treat! Boxcab E50
Greg: Did you use an airbrush to paint the car? What trucks did you use? Stay cool and run steam......
Nope, PSG1790, I used a spray can of Floquil Tuscan Red I picked up cheap at a train show several years ago. The prototype had Andrews trucks, so I used Micro-Trains Andrews trucks I just happened to have in the drawer! I've got two airbrushes and I can't remember the last time I used either....
