"The Super Chief" - Streamliner Series - Sunday River Productions Does anyone have a copy of this DVD? I'd like a review of it since I'm contemplating purchasing it. But currently it going for $35-$40, and is an expensive gamble if it's just a dud. I'm particularly interested in learning more about operations of the named train in the 40's and 50's in particular. What was the accommodations and service like? Car interiors with passengers would be great, not just a bunch of railfan videos taken from hundreds of yards away. I'm interested in a true documentary of Santa Fe's premier train to the stars. And any suggestions if this isn't it? Thanks!
Well, here's a link with a description and an image to jog anyone's memory. Still interested in anyone's opinion of the video. http://www.sundayriverproductions.com/streamliners/the-superchief-the-whole-story
Accommodations and service were great! Don't know anything about that vid. Sorry. But I can enthusiastically recommend the book Santa Fe Streamliners: The Chiefs and Their Tribesmen by Karl Zimmerman. If that helps.
