I have been scanning my old photographs to convert them to digital and onto CD for easy storage and viewing.

Here are some BR WD 2-8-0 heavy freight locomotives.

Here is 90054 passing Newton Heath, Manchester in 1966

90572 has just deposited the wagons on Toton reception sidings, and will head to the MPD in the background for servicing.

Alan, nice photos, thanks. It amazes me how Brit steamers look so clean...no paraphenalia around the boiler or skirting the running gear, nor any visible valve control monkey-motion.

Everything proper, polished, and formal.

What always amazes me is that, to the end of steam, Consolidations were considered heavy freight power.
