I hate voting from ignorance. Can you post a pic of the new scheme versus the old one. I don't think I've seen it.
Sorry, Catt.... I guess great minds think alike Here's a photo of the same model locomotive from a side view in the "current" CSX scheme : http://www.trainweb.org/ncrail/images/CSXT8606.jpg Harold
they need to stick to one scheme and finish painting everything else they have too there are still tons of old geeps running aroung here in chessie paint. well maybe now they will get them all done in this scheme.
I doubt it. I don't think they are in any hurry to get the fleet re-painted like some other roads do. I am pretty sure this scheme only comes to a unit after beening rebuilt of bought new. G'Day! Dane
Very reminiscient of BC Rail's "Austerity Blue" scheme, but not as cool. What, did yhey get too cheap to buy gray paint? At least when GN went to blue in 68 they had that nice white stripe to offset things. Oh well, the only thing thats inrvetable is change.
I'm personally very disappointed in the new scheme. The Bright Future scheme took quite a bit of trial and error to come up with, but it is imaginative and attractive. In my opinion, much more original than any other current scheme. This new scheme really just looks like something that, as many have suggested already, they came up with as a cost-cutting idea. It's reminiscent of the B&O/C&O merger scheme, the Sante Fe "bookends" and probably others - not the original and imaginative symbol of a "new" company as they're trying to pass it off. I hope there is a strong enough negative reaction to convince them to drop this idea.
