Wondering if any one can shed some light on a question I have. I drive under the CSX mainline in Rochester, NY, Mon-Fri. For the last three days there has been a train sitting on a siding leading into the Rochester yard. The engine is sitting on the bridge over Union st. and the tail end is near the Amtrak station for anyone familiar with the area. Why would a train sit there for three days? I'm thinking shippers would be a little upset if they knew this was going on. Does anyone know why something like this would go on? I have seen it before, but could never come up with a reason for it. I don't think the derailment in Onieda has anything to do with it, as that is some distance away. Any input is welcomed.

Hmmm. This made me curious. I've been hoping somebody would have an idea. Guess not?

I forgot I put this here. Anyway a quick update, the power was taken off the head end when I went by the next day. The tail end, however sat there for a couple more days. I think it was a total of 5 days before it was finally gone.

Is there a yard nearby? If so, could it be they simply didn't have room for this train?
