BN is no longer around??? What happened???? It still lives on in my mind. I've been reacquiring all the BN annuals. Brings it all back.
I like to go back even more to when it was just the Burlington. Well, in these parts it was the BRI or Burlington Rock Island joint line but most trains I remember seeing had Burlington power.

Just yesterday a westbound had 7 SD40-2s on it. 6 were greenie weenies. I just closed my eyes and imagined what once was.
Were it not for the very rare unmarred BN SD40-2s still in original lettering (see 'em on rock trains now & then), I'd forget what BN actually looked like.

E50, Since only the MILW and GN had turbo SD40 types, I'll have to imagine them only. Now if I only knew what those electrics sounded like???
Dan- I was fortunate enough to have known El Purington. He had a large batch of audio from electric days. Every time I hear those, it brings back a LOT of memories! My mind really wanders. I especially love the Whiteface as applied the the SD40-2s, and the Tiger stripes on the GP50's The single SD40-2 that got tigerstripes looks good in it as well.
