Took a Little Trip Part 5: Montrose

Well, we have reached Montrose. Not much left of the DRGW here, but some live action (posted in the U.P forum).
A boxcar and some stock cars have found a new life as storage sheds at an antique store:


I have always found the Montrose Depot odd in its Spanish architecture...unlike those seen between Durango and Silverton:

Have you ever toured the Montrose depot / museum? Every time I have tried it has been closed.

As to how many RGS stations there are...well I think there is one in Ridgeway still not too sure about elsewhere though

 

Well...it has been a long time since I stopped at Placerville OR Telluride...sounds like I may need to take another trip

Ben, I have toured the museum...very little in the way of railroad stuff, mainly "donations" from folks in the community, like antique sofas etc., which is fine but I had hoped it would be focused on the railroad...

 

Thanks for the depot information. Maybe I'll just view it from the outside.

Yeah, sad but it is still worth the visit for historic information
