If using switch it accessory decoders (from Tony's) with the tortoise switch machine what is the recommended "push button" for use (DPDT or SPDT or other)? I am trying to get my turnouts with a fascia mounted push button (I will use the accessory decoder because I will use the DCC power bus to supply power to the tortoise). Jeff
There is a wiring diagram for a 1 button momentary SPST that I seen on the web someplace. Mine are all connected with 2 SPST momentary switches, one to open, and one to close the turnout. I asked the question on the NCD-DCC yahoo group about the 1 button method if someone remembers where the diagram is. -Robert
I just finished installing 3 Switch-Its with single pushbutton controls. I also just finished removing them and replacing them with a Digitrax SE8 (Long Story). The switch you want is a momentary SPST pushbutton. You can use 1 switch or 2 switches. I used the single switch method. Push the button once and the switch moves to the opposite position. Push the button again and it returns to the original position. I had LEDs mounted to the control panel which indicated the current position of the turnout so I decided one button per turnout was acceptable. It also eliminates 1 wire per turnout from my control panel. David
They posted the wiring diagram on the NCE-DCC Yahoo group. Here is a link, but you must be a member to view it. You can just sign up, then download all their tips and diagrams. http://f2.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/IHV0QVOtADJKkUQKIUaywYLidc9DY6b3cmk0VrGyDrq2HDi4uhYbYAekcidQSGzDlSmEV_ewHg70wZRJNfgeYPgBmE46vx7YXZA9gaXkIzf0/Circuits%20and%20Stuff/Tortiose%20Circuits %20and%20Info/tortoise%20toggle.pdf
