18 cars of ethanol on fire. Just heard it on fox news an that was about all the firefighters had to say about it. They showed a map, and it was right close to Arcadia. They didn't say what line it was, but maybe somebody here will know what line runs through that town

Might want to move this to "Ready Track".

    Talk about a scary coincindence....

I logged onto FoxNews.com and saw the headline about a derailment and raging fire in "Hancock County". The next county to our west is Hancock, and the NS tracks are about 25 miles from our house.

Then I saw the source as an ABC TV affiliate, Channel 13. Our local TV is an ABC afiliate, and is also channel 13.

Now I'm beginning to get very concerned, until I see the dateline as Ohio....PHEW!

I'm not making light of this tragedy, but there's a big pucker-string difference between being 25 miles away or being 1200 miles away.

That was train 68K... it runs from Chicago to Selma, NC, to a plant just east of the CSX "A" line.

Judging by what I've seen & read, not much firefighters can do except let it burn itself out & keep it from spreading.

It is NS, the other line runs to Lima and isn't used very often.
