I am looking for some decent photos of the new Trinity TRINcool 72' reefers. These are the ones with BNSF markings and the painted on icecycles along the roofline. My plan is to try to modify a N scale Walthers cryogenic reefer into a kitbash of these cars. I found some pics at the Trinity site but pics of the ends, especially with the power plant are most desireable.

I found some photos and here is the result of my efforts.

I used a Walthers Cryogenic reefer trimming both ends off and one end short followed by removing every-other panel seam on the sides. then i made flat ends and a smooth roof with the slight bow. The bottom section was trimmed out to allow severe lowering of the car without interference from the low-pro wheels. The end platform and fuel tank were made from some Plastruct railing pieces and ladder and roofwalk material from Gold Medal Models. Refridgeration unit was carved out of plastic. Decal kit is Microscale.
It looks to be a reasonable facsimile of the prototype. Good enough for me anyway.

I've been (slowly) scratchbuilding one. Mine's the 64' UP version...

Wow, that's SLICK looking! I've been dinking around on one of these also but have been frustrated with the doors so I've taken a new approach to it's construction. Here's my beta test: (proto on top obviously)

I was quite pleased with the decals and dimentions and relief, but the door was just killin me. One of the most elusive photos is of a roof shot - hard to tell what's going on up there.

    Best Regards -Mike
