Finally gonna make an attempt and escape humanity for a bit.
Taking some time off work June 1-4 and heading to Grand Junction with my folks. They need a brake too, after 6 months of housework - Having basement finished off!

Anyway, wondering if anyone in, or near the area, might have some ideas as to people/places to visit. Leaving mid morning Friday, returning sometime Monday. Have a couple of things in mind, plus a few wine tasting chances perhaps!

Hoping to maybe get some photos of Samson de Grande, the DRGW 250T big hook stationed there!

    Anyway, any ideas/information is appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you come up via I-70 there are lots of good views of BNSF through Glenwood Canyon. Saw a HUGE coal drag through there yesterday. Of course there is Georgetown and the Loop but it is not currently running. The yard in Junction has nice view points. One of my favorites is a highway overpass that is about in the center of the yard. Also there is a restaraunt real close by that used to have a great layout running along the walls and some good displays. Can't remember the name but it is like a family burger type place. If you have any time you can make a short jog south to Ridgeway where they have a really nice rail museum now. Anyhow, take lots of pics and share em with us!!

A newly finished basement? Hmmmm... Is there a model railroader in that house? :D

Looking forward to some RR pictures from your trip!

Yeah, A newly finished basement. Bedroom/kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and hobby hole under the steps coming down! Guess I'll have to try and finish getting organized and take a few pics of the new quarters.

Model railroader in the house?? Yeah, ME. Mo one else cares for trains!
As long as I keep things paid up, no problems. Don't drink, smoke or drugs.
    Can't afford it! :D :D
