For the second time in less than a week, BNSF has derailed a train in Minnesota. Yesterday, 44 cars of iron ore (taconite?) near Grasston.

    Are these possibly weather related?

No, I'm thinking it's some lunatic fooling around with switches or taking apart the rails. The derailments aren't more than 100 miles away from here, maybe I'll check it out on the weekend.

 Oh My! I do hope this isn't what you learn!

A couple fellows I know were on Amtrak last weekend. I haven't heard how they got back home. But their trip was definitely scrambled by one of these BNSF mishaps.

Please pass along what information you can find.

That's just what believe is happening. I think somebody's doing this on purpose, since 2 derailments in 3 days close to each other wouldn't be very likely if not intentional. It's hard to imagine, but some people get a kick out of this stuff, just like internet hacking and arson and they know they can get away with it. They should send track inspectors doewn the line more often. It could also be the crew did a bad job repairing the track.

Sounds like all the UP troubles down in Texas. My opinion is those are related.
