IIRC, the DDA40Xs were powerered with two 16-645E3 type prime movers, tweaked to put out 3300 HP apiece. I have a copy of UP's 1992 motive power directory put out by Hyrail Publishing, but I can't remember if I have it here or back in that Augean stable I call a garage at home. It has the skinny on the prime movers used in UP's "Big Jacks".
