A pair of castle class loco's accelarate an excursion westbound out of Exeter, Saturday 4th May, heading for Penzance. The loco's are 5029 Nunney Castle and 5051 Earl Bathurst, the "river" is the northern part of Exeter flood relief channel!
Great sight Martyn.......and to think that I can remember the days when you wouldn't look twice at two Castles.......thanks for the memories. John.
Nice shot Martyn ... ! I wish we Colonists had not priced most of our excursions out of existance with greedy lawyers and exhorbitant insurance premiums.
News for this evening is that Nunney Castle developed a hotbox on the way down, Earl Bathurst is returning today with the train with the diesel (50031) that ran todays outwards move coupled inside for protection. Unfortunately it's lost it's path back & is running late, plus the weather here is not wonderful, so no chance of a pic, sorry guys Nunney is likely to go back East by road. News from the SW Railgen yahoogroup.
