Ok first up a small sample of proof that I actually do work on the layout sometimes. The bridges are KATO double track. The center pier and the abutments and retaining walls are Catt. By the way that's the Blueboard river the bridge is crossing. Next a sample of GVR rolling stock. This is a combo of two Bachmann 40' hi-cubes and some strip styrene.Total invesment is under $10.
Now I know hwere Brian got the idea for his loooong box cars. hehehehehe Nice looking blueboard river there Catt and oh the bridges look great along with the rolling Stock.
Actually Larry,Brian's car inspired me to get off my duff and build the one above.I think this one is the one that inspired Brian to do his car
Well just incase anybody is interested the river area is painted . The retaining walls ,abutments and center peir are painted . The blueboard river is now dark brown.I will post some pix after I get up in the morning, and hopefully get some roadbed down. Maybe even get some track down before the end of the week.
New pix of GVR progress I will start laying roadbed today. First trackage begins on the left of the bridge. The fashia in the pix is puter generated. As you can see I ain't no pro at it.
Good work Catt. Good modelling takes patience and you seem to have it. We look forward to your progress
AHA! Proof that he has been doing some work Looking better all the time, Johnathan, now for the track
Ok here's some more pix for yur fix. I discovered after it was to late that I had placed the bridge to far back on the river. Oh well I guess I'll just rework the plan again. Question for those who might know. How come I can use that silly smiling Graemlin but not the frown? Everytime I try to use the little critter I get a window telling me that "tag" is not allowed.
Too far back...nonsense. Its better to have the track in the middle of the layout rather than right at the edge. Looks good and gave me some ideas. Hope this cheers you up. Merry christmas.
Yeah, I have had that as well. Something for Charlie to sort out! Looks like the layout is nearly finished - or it soon will be at this rate
Speak of the devil... Here's the car that was inspired by Catt's. Details are posted in the Freelancer's board.
Nice CGI work. Somthing didn't look quite right about it, but I never suspected it was CGId until you pointed it out. I'll have to keep that in mind.
Here 's a graphic of the area of the layout I am working on. The basis for this area is the Pioneer Valley an O scale switching layout 12' long.I have shortened it 4' to suit my needs. The only other major change is that the PV has a diamond buried in the street and I didn't really care to try that in Nscale. If you compare the drawing to the pix above you can see where I goofed in locating the bridge.Oh well I guess I'll just have to scratchbuild the structure for that spot.
All I'm gonna say is "it's about time " Actually Catt its looking great I look forward to seeing more
The new factory in town. Scratchbuilt except for the windows. 160' long by 45' tall by 32' deep. A small part of a much larger complex.
Catt, How about a construction article...what did you use for material? How large is it? What paint did you use? Stuff like that. It looks great. Jeff Augsburg & Concord R.R. (a fictional shortline in Central Illinois) http://www.geocities.com/revnjeff/index.html
