Looking at this board I noticed that when people are talking about thier engines, they refer to numbers such as 2-8-8-2. What does this mean? Does this need to be considered when doing my layout?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hello Steve
The numbers are the wheel count on steam locomotive. The 2-8-8-2 refers to 2 pilot wheel 8 drives another 8 drives 2 trailing wheels. If you plan on running large steam, then yes you will need to make shore that. The radi of your layout will accommodate these locomotives.
