We have container well cars her in the UK, but we call them pocket wagons Containers cannot be double stacked beacuse of ure restricted height clearances. Some links to pics: Pocket Wagon with container Tiphook well car with Maersk container Cloe-up of ends of well cars If we speak nicely to Martyn Read, he may show us some pics of his Container Flats by Bachmann (00 scale)
Alan, I was always amazed at how American and European frieght trains have such different styles from one another. This is the first time that I can imagine that the styles are similar. Even for TOFC/COFC cars.
Sorry, must've missed this thread when it started , the pics are at: Epson photocenter. I'm not sure they allow you to use them to post photo's like photopoint did (they don't give you an easy URL like they did anyhow, I really must check that out!) The really nice underframe detail on these makes you want to run them empty! BTW I bought another set with ECS (European Container Svcs) purple boxes at the weekend as well, I'll try & get some pics done of them. These are very funky looking boxes! BTW I'm considering doing a UK intermodal website, as it seems like there is precious little info out there for the modeller & fan, I'll let you know if it happens! It's kinda based on me wanting to have a go at building some more of the UK intermodal wagons, and with the theory that if I've gone to the trouble of researching them then I might as well share the info, plus I know a few folk who do know far more than me about this that I can pester for info! All the best!
