Unusual number style

    Saw this unit in Fostoria,Ohio and noticed the unusual cab number style? Anyone have any info on this?

    That does look odd. May just have been what numbers they had on hand when the unit was painted. Or, the unit could have been damaged and repaired while on another rr and that was as close as they could get.

    or mabie it could have been a new number stile tested on the locomotive

    I was trying to figure out what railroads use this font that would have repaired it.Anyone know of a comparable number style on another railroad?

    That is an odd looking font.Looks awfully bold. I kinda like the regular font on NS locomotives,though.


    I've seen one NS unit use a real simple looking font before,though:
