    Greg,

That is real purdy. I bet it weighs a bunch. Maybe I will get lucky and it will come out in G.

Greg, that is one sharp locomotive. Big enough to handle about 40 cars by itself. I know you will enjoy it.

Thanks Larry and Shannon. Larry do you have any of the later MTH engines? This is my first one. It is heavy and should do well pulling even though it doesn't have the traction tires. Problem is, it doesn't fit with the era of the layout I'll be running it on. :D It post dates 1946 by 6 decades. :D

Greg. No, mine are E-8's and geep type units. All have traction tires and will pull more cars than my room permits.

I decided to stay with these - not because of a time period, but because of these were what I wanted to purchase for the SCRS, before departing Lockheed Martin. I know after that time, the SCRS will have a lots less funds allocated to it.

I like the later engines and MTH does a super job on them, from operating, to detail and paint.

Now visitors can bring their locomotives over - whatever the vintage and operate. For steam, I still have the coal loader and water tank to handle them. The heavyweights still look behind steam engines. Now if someone in the SC upstate area had a Big Boy.

    Need to go.

    Larry @ SCRS.

    John, I will. :D
Larry, my new engine is 2-Rail and that is why it has no traction tires. I probably don't have enough cars to over load it either. :) I was wondering how new your engines were, not models. I should have explained my first engine better. This is my first 2-Rail engine from MTH. My older 3-Rail engines are like draft horses, able to pull just about anything coupled to them.

    Good morning Greg.

The newest are the Seaboard Air Line E-8's. All SCRS locomotives are MTH PS-2 and go back in dates as they were listed in MTH catalogs. Almost all SCRS items were pre-ordered all they were listed in MTH, WEAVER and ATLAS catalogs.

I do have a E-8 A-B-A Southern set that came from WEAVER, however Mike Wolf (MTH) had a lot to do with getting these on the market. These still operate and handle the Southern heavyweight (7 HW - 4 HE) train.

I will be away from posting on the trainboard for a couple of weeks as Nita and I begin our round robin trip. I plan to get in some railfanning along the way.

Need to go - have to be at work shortly.

Greg, that looks awesome. I'm saving up for MTH's Katy Bicentenial GP40 right now. Tina has a MTH ACL GP7 and I have a Chicago Central GP30, both only a year old. They pull all my old K-Line diecast cars without a problem. The sound on these loco's is amazing, have fun!
